Bruce O’Dell

Bruce O’Dell grew up in Western Queensland & started riding when he was three.
Always around horses, with droving teams or contract mustering, it was just part of life that a new team were broken in every year.
Bruce has worked his way around Australia, the U.S.A and Canada, starting and educating young horses, along with shoeing and riding Saddle Bronc Horses.
Early in his career he met a gentleman by the name of Ray McGhee. Ray had spent a lot of time with John Lyons in the States. Ray inspired Bruce to become a better horseman through better communication and gentler methods. Ray changed his perception on starting young horses.
As Bruce progressed with his craft, his greatest influence, when it comes to riding and educating horses was Ian Francis.
Winner of The Way Of The Horse 2014 and backing it up to win the Champion of Champions, The Way of The Horse 2018, Bruce O’Dell is a master of many trades.
A former Australian Champion Saddle Bronc Rider, Bruce initially signed up for the competition in 2014 to demonstrate to the public, that a Cowboy is not necessarily a tough hand. Bruce demonstrated skill set at its finest, displaying finesse and superb understanding with his equine partners.
A Master Farrier by trade, Bruce has been breaking in thoroughbred, warmblood and performance horses for over 30 years.
Bruce believes establishing the basics and providing people with methods, helps eliminate rider frustration and confused horses. Covering the physical, mental, and emotional state of the horse is essential in moving forward. Understanding that each horse is an individual, it’s needs will be catered for individually. Individual exercises for individual partnerships result in better communication between horse and rider.
Caring for his horses & their long-term soundness, is what lead him to begin using 4CYTE™ Epiitalis® Forte Horse.
